CLUB BANORA celebrate 40 years of Golf Course opening …
Sunday, 7 April 2024
As Secretary, I represented NRVGA at this milestone Event and said a few words of Club Banora’s Vets role in the NRVGA ‘family’.
Approximately 130 Members of the Club attended the Event and enjoyed looking through the Memorabilia which was displayed in a separate room.
Refreshments flowed and finger food was available to eat.

We were then entertained, as the inaugural Vice President, Marg Stubbs, related stories of the early days of Ladies’ Golf and their Male counterparts. She also related many stories of the numerous Entertainment nights put on by the Ladies, and Dances organised by Marg, only to find that the Band engaged, one Dance Night to play, did not arrive and how she saved the night. She maintained the Men were still afraid of the Ladies.

Ken Culpitt, representing the TwinTowns Board, related the 4 Decades of the building of Club Banora Golf Course, in a short time, but explicit Time Line of what each of the four decades has brought Club Banora to the present day. As Ken stated, and Marg had also expressed, that Club Banora has been built upon the plethora of volunteers that have committed to work towards building the Club Banora Golfing Community which encourages the active involvement in outdoor sporting opportunities.

The cutting of the 40th Anniversary Cake was performed by Life Members of the Club, Pauline Ryan and Max Jessop, who both gave over 20 years of service ensuring the building of camaraderie and progress of Club Banora Golf Club and Members … Well Done!

Congratulations … Club Banora
